AIHS Organiser holds Sensitization Webinars for Partners, Exhibitors on Benefits of Digital AIHS 2020 as Cosgrove Takes Headliner Sponsorship

The organisers of Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS), in collaboration with Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) are set to convene a Zoom webinar on July 2nd 2020 by 2:00pm to educate partners and exhibitors of the show about this year’s edition, which will be held on a virtual platform.

A number of housing sector professionals will be speaking on the theme: “Imperatives of virtual exhibitions: the case of Abuja International Housing Show (2020),” which will be an enlightenment session about why virtual conferences and exhibitions are now important and how brands can leverage on them for maximum benefits.

The speakers will include Olaseni Fawehinmi, Lead Consultant, ProResulta Marketing, Lagos; Hakeem Ogunniran, Founder, Eximia Realty, Nigeria; Olubayo John, CEO Diaspora Realty Limited; Shakti Mohanti, Royal Ceramics Limited; Modupe Ogunyemi, Digital Marketing Professional, Ontario, Canada; Bachir Abba, GM Projects, Urban Shelter Limited.

In a statement signed by the Chief Organiser of the event, Festus Adebayo, the purpose is to educate the generarality of their partners on how to participate, connect, download products information and videos and how to interact with visitors and bring them to their booths during the virtual exhibition.

Adebayo said that virtual events are now a global order because of the current restrictions on physical events. However, the world is adapting fast and taking advantage of the situation to keep life going and fashion out innovative ways to continue businesses and sales for companies and brands, especially those that participate yearly in the prestigious Abuja International Housing Show.

This webinar is therefore an opportunity for these partners and would be partners to interact with the organizers and seek clarifications on how they can register, participate, market and make the most of this year’s virtual AIHS.

The organisers reveal that based on their experience, they can confidently inform their partners that the benefits of participating in the virtual show is perhaps more than the physical one.

“In terms of the number of people we are going to have in the virtual edition, we can say that our partners will have more reach this time, especially in the international market. Global brands that have been unable to participate in the physical editions because of travel issues will be able to conveniently participate in this one from the comfort of their countries. So our partners and brands will be interacting this time with more audience, and a richer one at that. And all this for a cheaper rate compared to the physical event,” Adebayo said.

He said that the Abuja International Housing Show has always been a world event and will continue to pull stakeholders from well over 20 countries including USA, UK, UAE, India, China, Turkey, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia among others. This is a special and rare opportunity for brands and companies to connect with new clients and partners from all over the world.

The virtual show will guarantee participants the best use of their time, immediate and controlled interaction with their audience, and can relate with more people than could have been possible in a small physical booth.

Like previous events, this year’s edition will have over 26 international speakers, at least 100 exhibitors and thousands of participants across the world. Leading construction company, Cosgrove has already booked a prominent sponsorship position in the virtual show, with many more already negotiating their participation.

Exhibitors will for 4 days chat directly with visitors online, take them through a virtual tour of their projects and products and various sites in any part of Nigeria or beyond.

Home interiors and building materials companies will enjoy same benefits and expand their reach in the local and global markets. All these from the comfort of their offices or project sites.

This webinar, according to the statement, will also expose majority of housing stakeholders to new skills in digital and virtual marketing as various international speakers have confirmed participation.

The webinar is therefore not only an opportunity to learn more about how to benefit from this year’s event, but also how to develop skills that are now very important and inevitable in the new world order, where the virtual world is now the reality.

The 4 days event will be televised by Housing Program on AIT, TVC and other cable and virtual networks. This, according to the organizers are premium benefits for their partners, especially their sponsors who will even enjoy between one week to one month free airtime on television.

Important stakeholders are set for this webinar and so should all those interested in the sector, including those seeking better understanding of the sector and how to access home ownership opportunities.

AIHS 2020: 85 Companies Confirm Participation In The Show’s Virtual Conference, Exhibition

The organizers of Africa’s largest housing and construction event – Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS) – have announced that 85 companies have already booked their places in the show’s 14th edition slated for July.

The organisers have earlier revealed that this year’s edition will be virtual, and that the interesting elements that makes it the biggest housing stakeholders’ event on the continent will be retained.

A virtual edition became important because of the current global scourge of the novel coronavirus which has made physical distancing inevitable. Though in their 14th year, this year’s show will be the first virtual edition. However, the demand for participation in the show is still very high.

In their most recent release, the show’s organisers confirm that the 85 companies already set for participation are drawn from real estate, building technology, home interiors, mortgage banking, housing finance among others.

Among these companies include AIHS’s traditional partners and supporters, as well as new entrants.

According to their statement signed by the Show’s CEO, Festus Adebayo, the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria are the first set of professional institutions to confirm participation.

Also for maximum impact, the Nigerian Senate Committee on Housing have been announced as partners and co-organizers of the 14th AIHS. This will come as cheering news for housing sector stakeholders who constantly harp on the need for legislative involvement in the show known for advising the government about housing sector policies.

The show confirms that the speakers that had earlier been announced to speak at the show since January will also be available to speak during this virtual edition.

For participating companies and brands, the cost implication of participation in the virtual edition is lesser than the cost earlier announced for the physical edition even though the virtual edition is very likely to offer them better value.

Unlike the physical edition where participation of some global partners are hindered by travel issues, the virtual edition will be larger because more partners, local and international will be able to be at the show from wherever they are in the world.

This is even a greater opportunity for brands and companies to introduce, promote and sell their products to a bigger market, at less cost and from the comfort of their factories or offices.

The 4 day event will as usual offer unique privileges for companies and brands to interact with a niche market where they can exhibit, make sales and strike new deals and clients.

The opening ceremony on a soon to be announced date will feature participants from not less than 15 countries including USA, UK, China, Turkey, India, UAE, Morocco, South Africa, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and many more.

As known to many, AIHS has become an all-important convergence of local and international stakeholders, speakers, and exhibitors in the housing and construction industry.

The show plays host to important dignitaries like Yemi Osinbajo, Debra Erb, Babatunde Fashola, former presidents, governors, ministers and national assembly members and numerous corporate executives. The virtual edition in July this year will not be any different, but will in fact even host more international dignitaries, as it will be easier for those who couldn’t have attended a physical edition to participate in the virtual edition.

Given that AIHS hosts over 40, 000 participants from at least 20 countries every year, the show remains the prime destination for multinational and national corporations, businesses and executives, public officials, and home seekers to converge, dialogue, network, exhibit and learn from one another about opportunities they should tap into.

The housing sector has benefitted immensely from the show as many corporations have signed ground breaking agreements at the show to provide home ownership opportunities for millions of Nigerians. Over 10, 000 homes have been built as a result of these partnerships enabled by AIHS.

As the show that offers the largest market for housing and construction companies in Africa, there are over 400 product exhibitors every year with unique and innovative solutions from over 20 countries.

The show’s policy advocacy sessions has led to the establishment of several housing sector policies including Land Geographical Information System (LGIS) in almost all states in Nigeria, as well as the establishment of state ministries of housing.

Some of the show’s notable and ever increasing partners include Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, National Assembly Committees on Housing, Echostone International, Cosgrove, American Home Builders of West Africa, AUHF, Affordable Housing Institute, Mixta Africa, Dangote cement, OPIC, Urban shelter, Brain & Hammers, Infinity Mortgage, COPEN Group, Shelter Afrique, IMF, World Bank, Royal Ceramics, AFP Furniture (Julius Berger), ABUMET, Costrimix, Wiser estates, IFC Edge building, Family Homes Funds, NMRC, FMBN, FCDA, Eximia Realty, Oct 5 real estate, Haven Homes, Alaro city, Revolution Plus, REDAN, MBAN, Platinum Mortgage, First Trust Mortgage, Association of Housing Corporation, Wallpaper World, iBuild, Hydroform International, Landmark Africa, Adrano property, Netconstruct limited, Jedo investments, Leisure court, Nedcomoaks, Window story, Modern shelters limited among other prominent partners.

Some of the show’s well anticipated and attended special sessions are ones like the CEOs Forum, Financial Conference, Not Too Young To Own a Home Session, Women in Housing Session, Alternative Finance Session etc. AIHS is indeed a one-stop event for multi-industry issues involving both government and private stakeholders, investors and esteemed participants.

The show is one that is always well covered by the media, offering more opportunity for exhibitors and speakers to be heard even outside the show, and this year will be no different.

Upload 1

Most importantly, according to Adebayo, AIHS remains the leading promoter of affordable housing in Africa, and looks forward to the unique experiences that will be offered participants during this year’s first virtual edition in July.

In spite of this virtual edition, the organizers are still hoping that the physical event will hold from 16th to 19th , November 2020.

The organizers say that they are strongly in support of all actions towards the safety of people. As a result, they call on all stakeholders in the housing industry to stay safe and remain compliant to all safety precautions.

The benefits include opportunities to network, collaborate, gain knowledge, develop skills and prepare for the future.

Networking is one of the biggest benefits of attending the Abuja International Housing Show. Building relationships is easiest in person, and the show provides a great way to meet new people and catch up with those you already know. You have the opportunity to meet new customers or business partners and strengthen relationships with existing clients.

At the conference session, you can meet industry experts and leaders as well as professionals that face the same challenges as you. You might not realize it, but being around so many of your peers in a new environment can even renew your motivation. When you attend a huge event such as Abuja International Housing Show, which will host over 40,000 local and international visitors this year, the re-energizing effect is only magnified.

Its visitors come from at least 20 countries, giving you the chance to meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds and view the industry from new perspectives. It’s crucial to take advantage of discussions with your contacts, because it gives you an opportunity to share your ideas and ask questions. You might even think of new ideas or encounter solutions you weren’t aware of.

By collaborating within your network and listening to industry experts, you can effectively develop your knowledge base. Try to find information about:
● New tools and equipment
● Current and upcoming technologies
● Useful techniques or processes

You can then bring this information back to your company to improve your products, services or systems, and ultimately grow your business.
When you watch demonstrations, attend training sessions and visit exhibitor booths, you have the chance to sharpen your skills – or develop new ones! Make sure you take advantage of any training opportunities that are offered across the show floor.

This year, for example, AIHS will host a CEO Forum that will help industry stakeholders fashion out a better way to advance the industry as a team, including special conferences for the 4-day event. Informational sessions such as these help you strengthen your weakest areas and prepare to face future challenges.

Besides helping you and your company, the show can also help your career. You’ll be able to see the different paths that professionals – including you – can take in the industry. This will open you up to future possibilities and help you make educated decisions about your career path.

While attending the show offers many benefits, what you get out of it depends on what you make of it. If you attend as a passive observer, you might not make that many connections or retain much information. If you get actively involved and focus on what you can bring back to your company, attending the show will be a valuable experience.

Why AIHS Has Become International Investors Destination to Nigeria

To the most ardent built industry stalwarts, it comes with little surprise that Abuja International Housing Show has become a destination haven for international investors to Nigeria and some of the reasons are not so far fetched.

The Abuja International Housing Show has been on a winning streak, delivering first class events and showcase and will mark its 14th season this year billed for the 21st – 25th July, 2020. A run which is considered no small feat, in an industry where hosting high caliber events have experienced showing inconsistencies from majority of conveners as a result of diverse challenges. The show’s long standing presence in showcasing players, products and services within the Nigerian built industry terrain and across international markets, makes it a go to source for all things housing and construction by local players and international investors alike.

The fact that the Abuja International Housing Show has been discerning to maintain a consistent streak in its ability to convene the top grass across the political and government landscape including the current administration’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the past Senate President, ministers and members of various facets of legislature to its events, as the Nigerian government accounts for over 60% of construction industry market share, as an opportunity for investors and players to create connections with the highest level of decision makers and policy influencers.

Another reason for the high tempo of attractiveness of the Abuja International Housing Show to international investors is that working in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Federal Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory as co-hosts has been deemed most important to its organisers since inception, ensuring greater leverage is achieved for Abuja municipality, the national housing market and for all partners. A move which is both economically and socially viable to prospective investors.

The Show, which has become the melting pot for all professional bodies within the housing sector, embraced as the most prolific industry event which allows multidisciplinary stakeholders meet under one roof to discuss diverse issues, not excluding fairer, more seamless interactions and collaborations across the built industry value chain.

The strategic positioning of the Abuja International Housing Show has drawn the biggest global agencies, multinationals, manufacturers, government agencies and housing corporations from around the world, Africa and locally. With organisations such as the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company, World Bank IFC, Julius Berger, Royal Engineering, CDK, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, Urban Shelter, Brains and Hammers and a host of others, strategically maintaining partnership with the brand on an annual basis, with new show partners signing up each year.

With a pivotal understanding to champion change and the adoption of innovative policies to bring about much needed transformation within the sector, the Abuja International Housing Show introduced the first ever CEO Forum and conferences which serves as a platform for the congregation of top CEOs and game changers from across world class organisations including the United Nations, World Bank, Africa Development Bank, OPIC America etc to share papers and rub minds with local leaders within a host of plenary sessions, realising resolutions which shape the future of the sector in Nigeria. These sessions have birth one of the sector’s foremost advocacy platform, Housing Development Advocacy Network, hosting most of the CEOs working together to drive healthy policy for lasting development.

The Abuja International Housing Show exhibitions have proven to be a good investment for its exhibitors with over 80% returning as a result of deals and partnerships garnered during the four day display. An outcome bolstered by the show’s hosting capacity within the elite International Conference Centre, offering full scale security while drawing an average of 15000 exhibitions attendees to its exhibitors showcase, offering massive exposure to both local and international participants.

Strong media alliances inclusive of the show’s co-owned collaterals such as the Housing Development TV on both local and international platforms exciting over 5 million viewership across AIT, TVC and NTA and Housing Program on Ray Power 100.5fm, and its online platform, Africahousingnews.com, combined with major newspapers and local electronic news stations make it a veritable option for the promotion of products or partnership opportunities for international investors.

International investors from the United States of America, Britain, China, Turkey, Canada, UAE, India, Italy etc continue to engage annually at AIHS events while prospective investors envisioning to make impact on the Nigerian built industry are sure to achieve objectives in beneficial ways.
